Jura Amateur Dramatics

The Isle of Jura is a small island with a big heart — just 258 people live here, stretched along one long road. While music has always been part of island life, opportunities to take part in theatre have been few and far between. That’s why we created Jura Amateur Dramatics (JamDram) in 2022.

Since then, we’ve staged five productions — including two, 'Midgie Galore' and 'A Fairy Unexpected Night' written by a local resident. 

From actors and stagehands to young people running lighting and sound, drama has given us the chance to learn new skills, gain confidence, and bring people together — especially in the long winter months.

And new for 2026, and the result of a huge collective fundraising campaign, we produced our most recent play on our new stage.  A huge thank you to everyone who donated towards this fund.
